The art of redesigning a backyard landscape is in combining a homeowner’s goals for the functionality of their backyard with the existing yard and landscape.  Where possible, we utilize and/or relocate existing landscape components into the new landscape design.  This is both environmentally responsible and can make the installation process quicker and less expensive.

At Designscapes, we utilize landscape design in the backyard remodeling process the same way we do with new construction – using our landscape design process and creating blueprints approved by the client prior to beginning construction.  Backyard remodels benefit from this process because we must blend hard lines such as the house, the existing porch, fence, power lines and storage buildings into the new landscape design plan.

Backyard makeovers are especially exciting and rewarding because of how quickly we can transition a backyard from something common and underused to a place that you can’t wait to enjoy in the evenings and on the weekends.  Backyard remodel projects commonly include elements such as water features, pergolas, expanded patio areas, new walkways, outdoor masonry fireplaces and benches, outdoor kitchens, new flower beds, additional plants, and many other elements.
